编译内核的问题

环境：VMware 5
Redhat AS4(2.6.9-5.EL)
编的内核：2.6.14.2
遇到以下问题：
#make install
........
WARNING: No module mptbase found for kernel 2.6.14.2
WARNING: No module mptscsih found for kernel 2.6.14.2
启动后进不去
......
File descriptor 3 left open
/dev/hdc: open failed: No medium found
No volume groups found
mount: error 6 mounting ext3
mount: error 2 mounting none
switchroot: mount failed: 22
umount /initrd/dev failed: 2
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
请各位指教

将ext3文件系统编译到内核中，应该在file system菜单中。
